This generator outputs the designation code based on ASTM D2996:
There are two designation code generators (look up scripts) using the ASTM D2996 designations. For the first generator, the ASTM D2996 designation code for filament wound FRP fiberglass pipe is generated from the various property values. For the second generator, each property must be supplied by the FRP fiberglass pipe manufacturer to generate the designation code.
The piping property data from ASTM D2996 is shown at the bottom of the page. Therefore, it is possible to look up and 'generate' the ASTM D2996 designation code (or look up the property) 'by hand'. Or the D2996 data can be used to explain how the classification (designation code) for filament wound fiberglass reinforced pipe (FRP) is derived.
BTW: The script was 'debugged' to the best of our ability! However, all filament wound fiberglass pipe designation code and/or fiberglass properties (all output) must be verified with the FRP fiberglass pipe manufacturer when using the values for a piping specification, order form, job sites, etc.
